Grimcutty

Grimcutty

Directed by John Ross, Grimcutty follows the story of a suburban girl who must stop a terrifying monster.

The bulk of our focus on the movie was to bring the monster to life. The monster was created by Creative Character Engineering. Rotoscoping, match moving, 3D models and texturing, lighting, face replacements, and much more went into bringing this project for Hulu to fruition.

VFX breakdowns

We used a variety of techniques to bring the monster to life. In some instances, we used clever compositing to add facial expressions. In other scenarios, we built a 3D tongue rig that could add an extra layer of terror to certain moments of the film.
